Welcome to the OVP – Online Volunteers Program, Of YWAM Russia.

Would you like to be an Official Volunteer of a missionary organization and contribute with evangelist efforts to reach out to Russia? Now you can do something for YWAM and for the Kingdom of God, without leaving your home!

We need your abilities for the weekends, nights or whenever your schedule grants. To make part in OVP, all you need is time, good will to help and a computer connected to the Internet.

Why be a volunteer?

Simply the fact that you can help with the development and advancement of our ministry and it’s many projects without having to move from one place to another. It can save expenses with trips, housing, as well as space to work, etc. How about programming your own schedule to work? We can do much more with interested people who will contribute to develop our projects.

Who can became an On-line volunteer?

Everyone who has time, and the will to help the missionary work in Russia. A computer connected to the Internet (even sporadic access as in an Internet cafe). Any ability or knowledge you have is welcome, if the Russian ministry needs it. That may be computer programming, a skill in writing or simply time to answer e-mails.

What does a volunteer do?

Basically all kinds of work that may result in information (that is, a translation, a folder, etc) which can be shaped by a computer and sent through the Internet. It might be giving us some technical assistance with of our projects. Things that sometimes our workers themselves can’t do, an analysis research about a specific theme, a technological opinion, graphics design program or maintenance of computers, etc. The volunteer may also help our ministry with the workers, supplying them with teaching material or subjects for discussions. See below for more examples and ideas.

So, are you ready to be an On-line volunteer?

Some questions to be considered:

First, you must have a conviction or direction directly from God to be involved with our ministry. After prayerfully considering this calling to be a volunteer, simply fill out the form below and contact us. It is that easy.

Do you have access to internet? Internet access and ability to utilize it are essential.

Are you able to work with deadlines? Many of our projects depend on a timely conclusion.

Rules of the OVP: We have a self-conduct code, a definite work area for your relationship with us and with your work.

Communication: Your work might demand a lot of communication. In this case, clear and well-structured writing is very important.

Always answer as soon as possible: The volunteer and his/her co-worker must answer the e-mails; faxes and phone calls in at least 48 hours or 2 workdays after the first contact.

Be a diplomat: Any declaration must be done in such a way that is not insulting or hurtful to anyone.

Involvement: Be sure you really want and can realize the work for which you offer to volunteer. Be sure you’ll fulfill your task till the end. As for our part, we are committed to helping you clearly and objectively, always aiming for your success.

Below you have some ways you can contribute: match the option (s) which fit(s) you well:

Opportunities on the Internet: If it’s easy for you to find out new tools that may facilitate our work, for example: Promote easier communication, find cheaper air tickets; contact companies or organizations that want to be involved and participate with our ministry; be a promoter of work on the web.

Be an official representative of the YWAM-Russia in your church, cell or another group: You may become a bridge between us and your church, cell, etc. Your task will be to supply them constantly with information, prayer subjects and promote ways to involve every member of your community with the work in Russia.

Making new contacts with churches: Do you know many people in the churches? You can open the doors for us to expand our ministry in Russia.

Translators/interpreters: If you have a good knowledge of English or Russian, that is, with the ability to write letters in a formal language, or with technical terms, you surely can help us with translations. Annually, we promote short-term missionary trips for pastors and leaders. You may take part in one of those trips to Russia.

Doctors/Dentists: You may help our missionaries with medical advice, by e-mail, Internet or by telephone when they need it, or offer your services for an eventual treatment when they return to Brazil or you may go to Russia on one of our trips to give treatment. We’d like to raise a large roll of professionals of many specialties to support the missionaries.

Owner of properties for a resting time: If you have a beach house, a farm, big or small, you may offer it to the missionaries when they need a vacation. Usually they are back from the field feeling tired and looking forward to a time of renewal; the ones who are married always need some good days with their children and family. Thus, you may bless a missionary by opening your homes.

Webmaster - If you have some knowledge to create and maintain WEB SITES, help us with technical support, on this site and as well as creating new pages.

Public Relationships: If you have the ability to organize groups of businessmen and leaders who’d like to take a missionary trip to Russia, you’re an important tool to help us, enlisting people and organizing these trips.

Monthly financial supporter: As you could see from our page CHALLENGES we face many challenges. We need a structure that permits us to train and prepare the Russian students and workers to act on their ministries. We must offer housing and food, and for that, we are dependent on rentals. With your contribution it will be possible to prepare the Russian workers, give them a house to live in, and it will help us to keep the office and mission departments.

Intercession: The spiritual battle we fight in Russia is very big. Doubtless it requires an army of intercessors, with spiritual understanding, with the revelation of the importance and effects of intercession, to cover us with their prayers. As an intercessor, you will be called to prayer whenever we have a necessity of intercession.

Others: If you have other ideas or suggestions on how you can be useful, write to us, please. We are open to other creative and efficient ways to perform our ministry.
